• Identifies patient service requirements by establishing rapport with patients and others who understand service needs.
• Maintains nursing operations by coordinating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies.
• Assures quality of care by applying hospital and nursing division philosophies and standards.
• Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff.
• Provides emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families, and sets care goals.
• Protects patients and employees by implementing infection-control policies and proper medication handling.
• Maintains documentation by auditing patient records and handling confidential information securely.
• Supports financial objectives and ensures availability of emergency equipment and supplies.
• Keeps professional knowledge up to date and maintains cooperative relationships with healthcare teams.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
