The role requires an Iowa-licensed RN, with BSN preferred and oncology nursing experience. Excellent communication, advocacy, and Microsoft Office skills are essential; OCN certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes programs and services to community such as public education events and support groups.
  • Coordinates and facilitates cancer support groups.
  • Establish rapport with referring physicians and offices.
  • Works closely with staff from Medical, Radiation, and Surgical Oncology offices to coordinate care.
  • Identifies barriers to care for patients and families.
  • Navigates patients through the cancer care pathway and coordinates appointments/services.
  • Advocates for patients and answers questions, referring to appropriate resources.
