Job summary

Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, RI seeks a Nurse Navigator to oversee clinical care in the Breast Center, coordinate patient education, and support the Cancer Institute’s research activities. The role works with the Sr.

Division Manager and supervises Care Coordinators as needed. Requirements include a BSN with 3–5 years nursing experience, RI RN licensure, CPR certification, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Nurse Navigator oversees the multitude of clinical aspects of an active Breast Center, while working in the support of the broader Program in Women's Oncology. The Nurse Navigator is responsible for coordinating health education for patients. Works collaboratively with the Sr. Division Manager on the daily associated clinical activities for the Breast Health Center. Supervises the Care Coordinators as necessary. Assists in the research of the medical aspects of particular studies. Reports as part of the CNE Cancer Institute (CNECI). Performs other related duties as requested or directed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
• Provides and manages quality patient care.
• Demonstrates leadership in the coordination of the BHC outpatient services.
• Supervises the Care Coordinators as necessary.
• Coordinates health education for patients.
• Works collaboratively with the Sr Division Manager on the daily clinical associated activities for the Breast Center.
• Assists in the research of the medical aspects of particular studies.
• Performs other related duties as requested or directed.
• Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 3 to 5 years nursing experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Must have and maintain CPR certification. Oncology Nursing Society certification preferred and or obtained within two years of hire. Nursing Navigation Certification Preferred and or obtained within two years of hire. Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Rhode Island. Must be proficient in the English language.
