Job summary

OU Health Edmond Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Navigator - Adult Endoscopy to join the multidisciplinary team in Edmond, OK. The role coordinates patient care, educates patients and families, and ensures accurate documentation for high-quality, family-centered care.

Requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing, 3+ years in acute care, and an Oklahoma RN license (or eNLC). A BSN is preferred. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 and relocation assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as RN in the acute care setting.
• Current RN License Oklahoma or eNLC (multistate).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care across the continuum with the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure proper documentation (Orders and Authorizations) for each patient.
• Provide expert nursing care including direct practice, consultation, education and research.
• Direct patient/family education to ensure high quality, family-centered care.
• Communicate with all team members on behalf of the patient.
• Collaborate with internal/external team to achieve excellence in patient service.
• Plan, implement, evaluate and document staff development related to patient education and quality care.

Location: This position supports Edmond but will office at 515 Central Park

Shift: Full-Time, 8am-4pm

OU Health Edmond Medical Center offers endoscopy and gastroenterology services through its Gastroenterology Clinic and Endoscopy Laboratory, providing diagnostic and treatment procedures for digestive health conditions.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring all patients in assigned area receive quality and comprehensive care.
• Coordinates patient care throughout the continuum of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensures proper documentation (Orders and Authorizations) are available and correct for each individual patient.
• Serves as a clinical resource for care management.
• Provides expert nursing care which includes direct clinical practice, consultation, education and research.
• Uses clinical expertise and management skills to direct patient/family education and services to ensure the delivery of high quality care in the most family-centered, efficient and economical manner.
• Communicates with all members of the team on behalf of the patient.
• Works in collaboration with internal and external interdisciplinary team members to achieve excellence patient service throughout the plan of care.
• In collaboration with the management team, is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting staff development related to patient/family education and quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

3 or more years of experience in Patient Care as a Registered Nurse in the acute care setting required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:

Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards.
• Knowledge of the principles of supervising staff.
• Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, and preparing written reports.
• Skilled in maintaining effective working relationships with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
