Job summary

City and County of San Francisco’s Department of Public Health seeks a part-time Certified Nurse-Midwife (2325) to join the family birth center. The CNM will provide comprehensive care across obstetrics and gynecology in a state-of-the-art setting with a focus on equitable, culturally competent care.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Possession of a valid California Nurse-Midwife license.
• Possession of certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
• Possession of a valid Nurse-Midwife Furnishing Number issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date.
• One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).

Responsibilities

• Antepartum care (1:1 and Centering Pregnancy) in collaboration with perinatal team and social services.
• Intrapartum care and Birth Center triage.
• Postpartum care (inpatient and outpatient).
• Family planning.
• Furnishing of medication.
• Clinical education of nurse-midwifery students, medical students, and residents.
• Documentation of care via electronic medical record.
• May perform other related duties as assigned/required.
