Job summary

Atlantic Health in Morristown, NJ seeks a Nurse Midwife to provide physician-supervised care during labor, delivery and postpartum. You will evaluate progress, manage labor, assist deliveries, and support newborn care.

You must hold a Bachelor's in Midwifery or related field, current RN and Nurse Midwife licenses, and BLS certification; a Master's in Midwifery is preferred. This role is hospital-based with a collaborative, high-quality care culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery Program or related field is required.
• Current state/regional license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse and a Nurse Midwife is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete history and physical examination on new patients admitted to the labor room and writes admission notes utilizing the attending physician when appropriate.
• Follows progress of labor of all patients in labor and delivery suite in collaboration with the attending physician and nursing staff.
• Participates in deliveries.
• Initiates routine, physician countersigned, orders in the labor and delivery suite and on the postpartum floor.
• Makes daily rounds on routine postpartum floors with the attending physician or independently.
• Reviews protocols, policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
