Job Description - Nurse Manager (RN) - Operating Room (7463-12006)

Job Type: Full-Time Exempt

Department/Unit Summary

The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, Prostate, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.

Qualifications and requirements
Graduate of an accredited BSN program required, Master's Degree preferred, with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in North Carolina or from a Compact State. Experienced as an OR nurse in which managerial, supervisory, and administrative competence has been demonstrated. Minimum of five years of progressing operating room nursing experience.

Additional requirements include:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • One year of experience preferred
