Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA, seeks a Nurse Manager (RN) for a 29-bed adult psychiatric unit. The role features a full-time, day schedule (0700-1530) and a Monday–Friday work week with 8.5-hour days. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure high-quality patient care aligned with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will hold an active RN license, BSN, and preferably MSN. Three years in acute care, with specialty in mental health, is desired.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a current state RN license and BSN.
• MSN or MS in health care preferred.
• Minimum of three years in acute care setting.
• Experience in caring for patients with diseases specific to the patient care area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Patient Care Team's delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient's spiritual and cultural differences in accordance with the PA State Board of Nursing Licensure requirement and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Maintains a therapeutic partnership with patient, family and caregivers.
• Anticipates situations that prevent/minimize adverse outcomes, promoting patient safety.
• Collaborates with members of the Patient Care Team.
• Demonstrates annual competencies for the Foundational Safety Behaviors: Brief skills, Debrief skills, Executive Patient Safety skills, Huddle skills, and the Learning Board.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee-related information.
• Maintains accountability for the productivity following the flexible-staffing plan.
• Schedules monthly staff meetings and records minutes.
• Maintains proficiency in all aspects of required computer program software.
• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of patient's rights and patient responsibilities.
• Applies key financial indicators in decision making. Reviews monthly budget and records/explains variances to stay within current fiscal year budget.
• Adheres to all regulatory requirements.
• Focus is on Core Measure compliance.
• Facilitates in Process Improvement utilizing the National Data Base of Nursing Quality Indicators, Lean Six Sigma methodology, along with other internal assessments to improve patient outcomes.
• Accurate departmental charges.
