Primary Purpose
Responsible for managing a designated program by providing program design, implementation, and evaluation of program initiatives.
Minimum Specifications
Education: BSN
Experience: Must have five (5) years of experience in related care area with evidence of professional focus and advancement in responsibilities.
Certification/Registration/Licensure: All must have a current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, a valid Compact RN license. All must have current Basic Life Support Certification from one of the following:

Skills or Special Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of staff, management, physicians, and external contacts. Must have demonstrated expertise in critical care nursing including cognitive knowledge and writing skills. Must be organized and detail oriented, capable of working independently and with recently graduated RN's. Must have an ability to develop and sustain program initiatives, and promote the program through public speaking and service with various professional organizations. Must be able to manage a departmental budget. Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors. Advanced knowledge of current professional and health care issues and nursing practice. Working knowledge in project management. Knowledge of necessary administrative duties to organize, maintain, and optimize access information. Maintains a level of clinical knowledge appropriate for the practice environment served. Skill in collection and analysis of data. Ability to provide leadership and motivation to others. Ability to present information of ideas concisely, accurately, and clearly verbally and in writing. Ability to delegate tasks appropriately. Ability to exercise appropriate judgement in decision-making and problem solving; seeks help promptly as necessary. Ability to grasp new ideas, complete tasks with minimal supervision, prioritize, organize or re-organize work, and manage time efficiently.
