Duke University Health System seeks to hire a Nurse Manager, Operations for Duke Infusion Clinic who will embrace our mission of Transforming Lives Transforming Care.

Summary

Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a DUHS Clinic; plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory healthcare services, programs, and activities.

2A Infusion Center - Provides care to outpatients for various non-oncology medication and infusion therapies including iron infusions, biologics, blood products, and other outpatient therapies ranging from 30 minutes to 6 hours. The clinic operates throughout the week with rotational shifts.

Work Performed

  • Manage multi-specialty nursing services within a specific clinic, including hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, scheduling, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate on learning opportunities and skill development for staff.
  • Analyze and maintain an effective nursing care delivery system that meets patient and family needs.
  • Promote education for patients, families, and the community; participate in direct patient care activities.
  • Collaborate to optimize nursing resource utilization, manage equipment and supplies, and monitor maintenance.
  • Assess the environment for patient comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work with the Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager on fiscal planning, including staffing and materials.
  • Foster exemplary customer service and effective communication.
  • Implement quality improvement processes.
  • Develop and monitor policies and procedures aligned with the clinic's mission and objectives.
  • Manage clinic operations in the absence of the Healthcare Administrator/Practice Manager and be on-call for emergencies.
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.

Experience: At least three years of inpatient nursing experience.

Licenses, Certifications

Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina, BCLS certification; leadership certification within one year of hire; eligible nurses must complete certification within three months of eligibility.
