Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for the Antenatal & High-Risk Postpartum Unit. You will lead a skilled nursing team and ensure high-acuity clinical care for obstetric patients.

Responsibilities include medication management, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, staff development, and patient education. A Bachelor’s in Nursing is required; a Master’s in Nursing is preferred, with 3 years of nursing experience and NC RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Master's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Three years of nursing experience is required.
• Must have current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Antenatal & HighRisk Postpartum Unit nursing team.
• Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care for high-risk obstetric patients.
• Oversee medication management, including high-alert medications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support maternal and fetal outcomes.
• Support patient and family education and discharge planning.

Nurse manager, Operations - Duke University Hospital

Duke University Health System- Duke University Hospital seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.

Department Profile:

Our 23bed Antenatal & HighRisk Postpartum Unit cares for pregnant and postpartum patients requiring close monitoring due to medical, obstetric, or fetal complications. We support a diverse patient population with conditions such as preeclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, multifetal gestations, surgical/postcesarean recovery, and medically complex postpartum needs. Our team promotes compassionate, familycentered care while delivering highacuity clinical services. The Antenatal & HighRisk Postpartum RN provides skilled, evidencebased nursing care to pregnant and postpartum patients experiencing highrisk conditions. This role includes continuous assessment, medication management (including highalert medications), patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.

Work Hours & Shifts: Full Time: 40 hours a week

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.

Experience

Three years of nursing experience is required.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BCLS certification required.
