Descrizione del lavoro

Turn complex surgery into exceptional outcomes as the RN Manager, Operating Room at a Magnet-designated, 450-plus-bed tertiary care hospital, where visible leadership, advanced robotics, meaningful patient impact, professional growth, and an outstanding Pacific Northwest lifestyle come together.

This Operating Room Nurse Manager will join a medical center recognized as a Top 100 hospital and known for nursing excellence, high-acuity care, and regional impact across Oregon and Southwest Washington. As a major referral center, the hospital gives experienced clinical leaders the resources and organizational reach to advance safe practice, strengthen caregiver engagement, and improve surgical outcomes. For professionals exploring 2026 healthcare leadership jobs, this opportunity offers the scale of a tertiary hospital career with the clinical standards and interdisciplinary collaboration expected in a Magnet environment.

Within Surgical Services, the Operating Room Nurse Manager will lead a dynamic perioperative program encompassing 24 operating suites and more than 12,500 adult surgical cases each year. The OR supports complex general, bariatric, orthopedic, neurosurgical, vascular, thoracic, and cancer procedures, creating daily opportunities to engage with diverse specialties and high-acuity cases. An advanced robotic-assisted surgery program features da Vinci SP, Xi, and DV5 platforms, using technology to enhance precision and workflow while preserving the judgment of experienced perioperative clinicians. This combination of procedural volume, specialty breadth, and modern surgical capability makes the Operating Room an ideal setting for a leader who wants to expand expertise and shape the future of perioperative care.

The RN Manager of Surgical Services will provide leadership for approximately 160 caregivers, supported by six Associate Nurse Managers and a Surgical Services Supervisor. Day-to-day priorities will include clinical and operational oversight, staffing coordination, caregiver development, quality improvement, regulatory readiness, patient safety, performance management, and efficient use of operating room resources. Working in partnership with senior hospital leadership and perioperative physicians, anesthesia professionals, nurses, surgical technologists, allied health professionals, pharmacists, and support teams, the RN Manager will help remove workflow barriers, maintain clear communication, and ensure that caregivers have the guidance needed to deliver safe, timely surgical care.

For an experienced Perioperative Nurse Manager, this position represents a meaningful progression into large-scale healthcare management rather than simply another nursing job. The scope creates opportunities to mentor emerging leaders, strengthen succession planning, support specialty education, advance evidence-based practice, and participate in strategic initiatives that influence the entire surgical service line. With six associate managers and a dedicated supervisor in place, the leader can balance operational accountability with visible staff support, leadership development, process optimization, and long-term program growth.

Beyond the hospital, the Surgical Services Nurse Manager will enjoy Portland’s distinctive blend of urban energy and immediate access to the outdoors. Mount Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, and the Oregon Coast make skiing, hiking, biking, camping, and weekend exploration easy to build into life outside work. Portland also offers celebrated food and coffee scenes, family-friendly communities, nearby suburbs, and the annual Portland Rose Festival, while Oregon’s lack of sales tax adds a practical lifestyle advantage. Housing costs vary across the metro area, but the range of city neighborhoods and surrounding communities provides options for different commute and lifestyle preferences.

Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package complement the professional scope of this RN Manager, Operating Room opportunity, with specific total-rewards details available during the recruitment process. Experienced perioperative nursing leaders ready to guide a high-volume OR, support 160 caregivers, and advance robotic and complex surgical services are encouraged to connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter and discover where this Portland healthcare leadership career could lead next.
