Job summary

Medical City Plano is seeking a Nurse Manager of Neuro Specialty to lead and oversee a defined patient care area, supporting evidence-based nursing and safe, high-quality outcomes. You will foster an autonomous team culture aligned with the hospital mission and values, ensuring optimal patient care and advocacy.

The role requires strategic leadership, mentoring of nurses, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to maintain clinical excellence and patient safety in a dynamic neuro service

Qualifications

• BSN is required; MSN preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Texas RN license (or compact licensure) required.
• National specialty certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 accountability for a defined patient care area and ensure a climate for autonomous, evidence-based nursing practice.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff to deliver goal-directed care aligned with hospital mission and values.
• Promote patient safety, rights, and high-quality outcomes while coordinating interprofessional collaboration.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Manager has 24/7 accountability and responsibility for a defined patient care area to provide a climate optimal for the provision of individualized goal directed nursing care that supports the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The nurse manager is expected to provide an environment where nurses practice autonomously utilizing evidence-based practices. The Nurse Manager is responsible for planning and providing individual goal-directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff’s primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community.

What qualifications you will need:

• BSN Required. MSN or Masters Degree in related field preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Texas state (RN) Registered Nurse license or compact licensure
• National specialty certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire
• Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing leadership
