Job summary

Medical City Plano seeks a Nurse Manager of Emergency Room to lead a dynamic ER team and promote exemplary patient care. You will oversee 24/7 operations, partner with physicians, and ensure evidence-based nursing practice in a high-volume trauma center.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN or related master’s degree preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 1 year of start date.
• PALS certification and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required.
• TX RN license or compact license required to practice in Texas.

Responsibilities

• 24/7 accountability for a defined ER patient care area, ensuring goal-directed nursing care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Nurse Manger has 24/7 accountability and responsibility for a defined patient care area to provide a climate optimal for the provision of individualized goal-directed nursing care that supports the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The Nurse Manager is expected to provide an environment where nurses practice autonomously utilizing evidence-based practices. The Nurse Manager is responsible for planning and providing individual goal-directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff's primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• BSN Required. MSN or Masters degree in related field preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course required
• (RN) Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact licensure
