Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the 50-bed Medical/Surgical unit at Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia, NC. This hands-on operational leadership role builds staffing systems, engages teams, and elevates the patient experience, supported by three Assistant Nurse Managers and a CNO.

The role requires a BSN (or higher), North Carolina RN licensure, and prior leadership and acute-care RN experience.

Qualifications

BSN required; graduate degree preferred.
Two years leadership experience and three years RN in acute care preferred.
Current RN licensure in North Carolina; NC restrictive interventions training within 3 months; board certification in area preferred.

Responsibilities

Staffing & scheduling: build reliable coverage models and staffing plans.
Team engagement and retention: develop onboarding and retention strategies.
Patient experience leadership: implement rounding, bedside shift reports, and service recovery.
Quality and safety: own infection prevention and safety metrics in partnership with Quality.
Talent development: coach three Assistant Nurse Managers into unit leaders.
Budget management: oversee unit operating budget and staffing spend.
Strategic partnership: collaborate with the CNO on capacity planning and service improvements.
