Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a Nurse Manager for the MedSurg 4A unit to lead day-to-day nursing operations and ensure safe, compliant patient care delivery. You will oversee staffing, workflows, and care coordination while maintaining adherence to standards and hospital policies.

The role requires a BSN, Massachusetts RN license, and 3+ years of clinical experience with 2+ years in a relevant unit. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited BSN program (minimal requirement).
• Active Massachusetts RN license. Certification in related specialty areas may be required.
• Minimum of three years clinical experience with at least two years in the unit patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide unit-level leadership and operational oversight in alignment with policies and standards.
• Supervise and manage assigned clinical and non-clinical staff and budgets as applicable.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and patient flow.
• Oversee clinical practice and care coordination to ensure quality outcomes.
• Identify and address operational, staffing, and patient care issues with timely solutions.
• Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Promote staff competency and unit readiness through education and training.
• Serve as a clinical and operational resource within the unit and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
