Saint Luke's Health System is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Manager to lead operations across their East and South campuses in the Kansas City region. The role involves scheduling, staff oversight, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to drive patient care improvements.

The position requires an RN license in MO/KS, BLS certification, and at least 2 years of applicable wound care/nursing leadership experience.

• Monitor performance metrics, audits, and dashboards to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage budgeting for the Wound Care Program and staffing levels including PTO and on-call rosters.

Job Description

Join Saint Luke's as a Wound Care Nurse Manager serving Saint Luke's East and Saint Luke's South, where your leadership can make a lasting difference in patient care! RN MO and KS required BLS required 2 years applicable experience required Wound care experience preferred Wound and/or Ostomy certification preferred. Time will be split between locations at Lee's Summit and Overland Park. Around 20 direct reports between both locations.

The Opportunity

The Wound Care Nurse Manager provides support for the day to day operations including scheduling, outreach, and assignments. Working with the Director of Patient Care Services, this role is the main contact for the interdisciplinary team, responsible for training and oversight of new hires and ongoing staff, including Nurses, Medical Assistants and office staff. The Wound Care Nurse Manager, as part of the leadership team, facilitates relationships with providers, health plans, vendors, facilities and community organizations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for the Director of Patient Care Services


• Ensures an atmosphere of open communication, teamwork, and empowerment to make informed decisions


• Collaborates with Director of Patient Care Services over the Wound Care Program in analyzing reviews, metric data, and chart audits and uses that information to identify opportunities for improvement


• Collaborates with Director on overall budget for Care Management


• Oversees Saint Luke’s Wound Care position control and hiring of new staff


• Contributes to the clinical, quality and financial outcomes of Saint Luke's East and Saint Luke's South


• Interface/collaborate with contracted health plan contacts on patients referred to Saint Luke’s Wound Care program


• Assist with strategy and process development, and implementation, including measurement of outcomes


• Assures proper documentation is completed by providers and staff


• Monitor Daily Dashboard and other performance and operational reporting to take appropriate action based on the data


• Assist Referral Specialist to schedule urgent visits for providers from on-call and during business hours


• Represent Saint Luke’s East and South at provider, vendor, facility and health plan meetings as assigned/requested


• Ensure ordering and maintenance of all medical supply needs


• Maintain staff PTO to ensure adequate staffing


• Maintain on-call schedules/calendars for Providers and NPs


• Maintain Provider schedules for meetings, PTO etc.


• Maintain quality of services through audits and education


• Maintain HIPAA compliance as it relates to member care


• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Applicable Experience: 2 years


• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross


• Registered Nurse - Various


• Associate Degree - Nursing
