Job Summary Responsible for developing and maintaining efficient day-to-day operations within the Heart Institute.
Responsible for clinical practice and efficient operations within the Cath Lab, Cardiovascular OR, and Cardiac Sedation Nurses.
Accountable for setting standards, supervising personnel, directing and developing staff, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff, and providing physical and psychological support for patients and their families.
Enforces professional staff behaviors that facilitate positive relationships among colleagues, physicians, administrators, and other hospital personnel, and coordinates with other disciplines and departments to achieve the Heart Institute's mission and goals.
Maintain presence within the national and international congenital heart disease community to ensure the Heart Institute, specifically Cardiac Nursing, remains at the forefront of practice improvements and market changes.
Job Specific Duties
- Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders such as multidisciplinary teams, internal, and external customers to create work relationships that drive performance and quality outcomes efficiently.
- Assist with nursing functions related to Magnet reaccreditation and nursing in-house committees as requested.
- Identify LEAN projects and select tools to review and evaluate current process states.
- Manage budgets effectively and alert leadership to variances greater than 5% in revenue or operating expenses.
- Review monthly management reports to ensure all expenses are accounted for.
- Monitor and impact cost containment while enhancing revenue streams to meet fiscal goals per hospital policies.
- Maintain a comprehensive staffing plan aligned with budget and quality indicators.
- Oversee charging and billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely entry into EMR, and collaborate to resolve billing issues.
- Supervise day-to-day operations, respond to unplanned circumstances, and ensure quality services and patient care.
- Manage personnel resources from hiring to separation, including training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop educational programs and train staff to promote engagement and retention.
- Perform administrative duties such as data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Participate actively in the Heart Institute Taskforce.
- Assist in onboarding new physicians and staff for smooth operations.
- Communicate issues promptly to supervisors for resolution.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to quality, safety, and service indicators.
- Review complication rates and communicate findings monthly.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives such as life wings.
- Coordinate customer service indicators, prepare reports, and communicate outcomes.
- Conduct daily rounds to gather feedback and identify improvements.
- Establish standards, train staff, and enforce compliance with customer service programs.
- Recognize staff achievements and foster a culture of service excellence.
- Support hospital strategic initiatives and manage performance metrics on the Monthly Scorecard.
- Engage in regular rounding to gather feedback and improve metrics.
- Adhere to the Code of Business and Legal Conduct, Ethics, and Compliance policies.
- Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing healthcare delivery.
