Job summary

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) in Hampton, VA seeks an experienced RN Nurse Manager to lead the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center nursing team and ensure high-quality, recovery-focused care.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and medical staff to coordinate timely, person-centered services, supervise daily operations, and oversee assessments, crisis interventions, and medication administration.

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to register as a QMHP-Trainee within 30 days of hire.
• Valid Virginia driver's license.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily operations of the nursing team.
• Coordinate psychiatric and medical services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
• Oversee nursing assessments, crisis interventions, medication administration, and ongoing clinical monitoring.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical providers, therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate client care.
• Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor compliance with agency policies and state and federal regulations.
• Coordinate staffing schedules to help ensure appropriate nursing coverage.
• Recruit, train, mentor, evaluate, and support nursing staff while fostering professional development.
• Serve as a liaison between the program, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and community partners.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment.
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and program development initiatives.

Annual Hiring Salary: $82,000-$88,320 + $10,000 Sign-on Bonus

Schedule: Primarily Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
