Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager for the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center. The role leads nursing operations, collaborates with psychiatrists and therapists, and ensures coordinated, patient-centered care for individuals in behavioral health crises.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 am–3:30 pm) with a salary range of $82,000-$88,320 plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Virginia RN license and supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to register as a QMHP-Trainee within 30 days of hire.
• Valid Virginia driver's license.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing operations and supervise daily nursing activities.
• Coordinate psychiatric and medical services for behavioral health crises.
• Oversee nursing assessments, crisis interventions, med administration, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, providers, and other professionals to coordinate care.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor agency policy and state/federal regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure nursing coverage.
• Recruit, train, mentor, evaluate and support nursing staff.
• Serve as liaison between program, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and community partners.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, recovery-oriented environment.
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management and program development.
