Job summary

Monarch Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership for a unit serving youth with mental health needs. This full-time role requires RN licensure and 2+ years of crisis-care experience, plus 1 year of supervisory experience.

Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with day/evening coverage as needed. The position focuses on staff development, quality initiatives, and coordinating care with physicians.

Qualifications

• Associates: Nursing (Required).
• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Board of Nursing required.
• Experience with children, youth, or transition-aged youth with mental health, intellectual/developmental disability, or substance use disorder (2 years).
• Substance use experience (1 year, not required).
• Supervisory experience (1 year, required).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical management and operational direction for the assigned unit.
• Serve as a tactical point person for care of individuals served, staff development, and quality initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate clinical staffing and coverage for day and night shifts.
• Monitor patient flow and institute corrective actions.
• Oversee and maintain EHR training and data accuracy.
• Manage staff hiring, development, and performance.
• Ensure supplies, medications, and lab processing are ready when needed.
• Attend meetings and maintain licensure and certifications.

Job Description Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Nurse Manager is to provide clinical management and operational direction for clinical unit assigned. This position provides leadership and coordination within the area of responsibility and serves as a tactical point person as it relates to the care of the people we support, staff development, physician relationships, quality initiatives, program development and corporate-wide success.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure that the unit is clinically staffed appropriately including, but not limited to hour responsibility and ability to cover shifts that work either days or nights as needed.


• Analyze patient flow problems and assist in instituting corrective actions.


• Monitor clinical staff performance in compliance with established timeframes.


• Function as an electronic health record super user working closely to ensure that appropriate training, error monitoring and corrections are completed in a timely manner.


• Provide direction and support for clinical staff in order to achieve the clinical goals and objectives of the unit and program.


• Ensure that equipment and supplies that the providers require are readily available at the time they are needed and in emergencies; includes medications, lab processing and notification of emergency medical services when indicated.


• Oversee and control stock drugs and controlled substances, including monitoring of all clinical logs for accuracy and completion, including implementation of infection control and standard precautions.


• Manage staff (e.g., hiring, development, performance, terminating, etc.), to ensure utilization of positions assigned to best meet the needs of the individuals served.


• Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain current licensure and certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.


• Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas.


• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.


• Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.


• Driving and travel may be required
