The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions - the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers.
Positions may be located throughout DPH in Ambulatory Care settings listed on the Ambulatory Care Area Table. The list resulting from this recruitment may be used to fill Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Care positions for the next six months. Current known vacancies include but are not limited to the Population Health Division’s Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Prevention Program - This position supervises nurses and health workers, and helps oversee clinical operations at San Francisco City Clinic, the municipal STI clinic.

Minimum Qualifications
Substitution:
Two (2) years of additional experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse in a general acute care hospital may be substituted for the educational requirement.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date unless otherwise noted.
One-year fulltime employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours. Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine fulltime employment.

Selection Procedures:

Training and Experience Evaluation: (Weight: 100%):
Candidates that meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in a Training and Experience Evaluation that is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities in job related areas that have been identified as critical for satisfactory performance in this position.
The link to the training and experience evaluation will be emailed to the address listed on the candidate’s online application. Candidates will be required to respond to the training and experience evaluation in the time frame indicated and must submit the completed questionnaire as directed to have it evaluated. Responses cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates must achieve a passing score on the training and experience evaluation to continue in the selection process and will be placed on the confidential eligible list in rank order according to their final score.
After the confidential eligible list is adopted the department may administer additional selection procedures to make a final hiring decision.
Eligible List Duration:The list resulting from this examination process will be 6 months.
Certification Rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be Rule of Ten Scores.
