Job summary

Wilkinson RHCF in Amsterdam, NY seeks a Nurse Manager to lead a 160-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing unit. You will supervise nursing staff, uphold care standards, and mentor team members to ensure high-quality resident outcomes.

The role emphasizes policy implementation, performance reviews, and effective communication with residents and families, supported by a collaborative management team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid State RN License.
• 3 years Long Term Care experience preferred.
• 2 years Charge Nurse experience preferred.
• Proficient with computers and healthcare software.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Positive, leadership-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all duties for the assigned unit.
• Help establish and implement policies and procedures.
• Mentor less experienced nurses with clinical and career guidance.
• Maintain standards of care for the unit.
• Review resident records and quality of care.
• Monitor overall care and individual resident cases.
• Address questions or complaints from residents or families.
• Represent unit interests with upper management.

Nurse Manager Job Duties:

• Handle all supervisory duties for assigned unit

• Help establish and implement employee policies and procedures

• Mentor less experienced nurses, offering clinical & career advice

• Maintain the standards of care for the unit

• Review Resident records & quality of care

• Monitor overall care & review individual Residents’ cases

• Address questions or complaints brought forward by Residents or their families

• Represent the unit's interests with the upper-level management

Role Requirements:

• Must hold valid State RN License

• 3 years Long Term Care Experience preferred

• 2 years Charge Nurse experience preferred

• Strong computer skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Positive, leadership mentality
