Job summary

VNACJ Community Health Center is hiring a Nurse Manager to lead care teams, oversee clinical operations, and advance patient-centered services at our New Jersey health center. The position requires RN with BSN, supervisory experience, BLS, and a valid NJ driver's license, with a strong commitment to serving underserved communities and advancing FQHC goals.

Qualifications

• RN and BSN required with current licensure.
• 3+ years of clinical nursing experience.
• 1+ year ambulatory care experience, FQHC preferred.
• 1+ year supervisory/managerial experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Valid NJ driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise care teams including CMAs, RNs, LPNs, Vaccine Coordinators.
• Provide onboarding, training, and skills development for non-provider clinical staff.
• Lead meetings, huddles, and communications touchpoints.
• Provide clinical oversight and support care coordination to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care within RN scope as needed.
• Identify improvements in patient care processes and participate in quality initiatives.
• Manage and monitor clinical supplies and equipment.
• Oversee infection control, safety, and emergency response policies.
• Demonstrate vaccine coordination processes including NJIIS documentation.
• Support CMA externship program for recruitment and retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team SupportFoster a positive, professional, mission‑aligned work environment.
• Supervise CMAs, RNs, LPNs, Vaccine Coordinators, and other assigned staff.
• Provide effective onboarding, ongoing training, and skills development for non‑provider clinical staff.
• Lead efficient team meetings, huddles, and communication touchpoints.
• Clinical OversightSupport care coordination and clinical decision‑making to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care within RN scope as needed.
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve patient care processes; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Operational ManagementEvaluate clinical competency for 90‑day and annual performance reviews; document results and provide coaching or remediation.
• Maintain required logs, records, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with management and monitoring of clinical supplies and equipment.
• Oversee the environment of care, ensuring adherence to infection control, safety, and emergency response policies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of vaccine coordination processes—including VFC and private inventory management, temperature monitoring, NJIIS documentation, and VFC site survey requirements
• Workforce DevelopmentParticipate in the CMA externship program to support recruitment and retention of qualified clinical support staff.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed to support clinic operations.

Qualifications

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $84,000 to USD $112,000. When determining an offer, VNACJ CHC considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add‑on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
