Job summary

Hampton VA Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for the Nursing - SCI and Rehab team. The role oversees all elements of the nursing process, supervising direct patient care and guiding delivery of age-appropriate services.

Candidates must meet VA nursing credentials, hold an active RN license, and demonstrate leadership in a complex inpatient setting. Strong collaboration with physicians and compliance with regulatory standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program approved by the accrediting body (ACEN or CCNE).
• Current, full, active RN license in the United States (state license).
• Foreign nursing graduates require degree equivalency validation.
• State licensure needed; GNT exception allows temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide or supervise direct patient care and ensure age-appropriate delivery.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate delivery of care.
• Lead and develop the nursing team and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Maintain competency and participate in education and continuing professional development.
