Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school required.
• RN license in Virginia or reciprocal compact required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• ACLS Provider required within 60 days.
• Certification within clinical area of responsibility preferred.
• Minimum of two years' staff nurse experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct oversight of clinical care delivery with Nurse Manager to meet quality targets.
• Provides shift leadership to ensure 24/7 coverage with other ANMs.
• Ensures staffing resources are adjusted to meet patient care needs.
• Reassesses patient assignments to match licensure and scope of practice.
• Completes daily rounding on associates and patients, including off-shifts.
• Ensures daily regulatory and safety tasks are completed.
• Acts as liaison between physicians, departments, patients, visitors, and families.
• Assists in verifying staff education and participates in new associate orientation.
• Reviews competencies and documents performance expectations.
• Delivers feedback during annual performance evaluations with the Nurse Manager.
• Administers ROC for attendance and initial ROC after discussion with Nurse Manager.
• Serves as a mentor to unit staff and provides opportunities for practice improvement.
