Job summary

UPMC invites applications for the Professional Staff Nurse role. A Registered Nurse will lead patient care, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and support patient families throughout the episode of care in alignment with unit goals.

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
• Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles (and teaching patients, families, students and new staff) and provides teaching to patients and families to guide them through the episode of care and transition to home or another level of care.
• Applies the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment, sets daily goals and plans of care with patient partnership and holistic consideration.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development and participates in unit-based governance and improvement efforts to enhance care and practice.
• Identifies opportunities for quality improvement and contributes to patient satisfaction and evidence-based practice improvements.
