Qualifications

• Acceptance into an accredited school of nursing and successful completion of the course requirements needed for graduation within 1 year.
• Post-graduation from an accredited ASN or BSN nursing program, but has not received ATT bzw final transcript.
• BLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period and kept current.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care as assigned by the nurse in charge or preceptor.
• Documents delivery of patient care in the medical record and updates plan of care as necessary.
• Performs responsibilities related to safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
• Communicates patient and unit information to RN Preceptor, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, Director, and other shifts using proper channels.
• Helps maintain positive interdepartmental communication and teamwork.
• Adheres to all West Tennessee Healthcare policies and procedures.
