Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Nurse Instructor who will mentor and train future CNAs while upholding high clinical standards. You will lead the CNA training program, supervise student performance, and help develop orientation and mentoring for the nurse aide training track.

The ideal candidate is an RN with 2+ years in long-term care, teaching experience, and current BLS; CPR may be required per state rules. This on-site role offers growth within our care-focused teams.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and hold current RN licensure.
• Two years of full-time clinical experience and one to two years in long-term care/geriatric nursing.
• Must complete a course focused on teaching adult students and have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
• Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• CPR certification required per State Specific Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, teach and coordinate the certified nursing assistant training program.
• Supervise, monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing assistant students.
• Direct and/or assist in development and implementation of nurse aide training program orientation/mentoring.
• Round in all patient/resident care areas to ensure quality nursing assistant services are delivered.

• A minimum of two years full-time or equivalent clinical experience is required and a minimum of one to two years of clinical experience in long-term care/geriatric nursing (State or Regulatory Agency requirements may vary).
• Must complete a course that focuses on teaching adult students, have experience in teaching adult students or supervising nurse aides (State or Regulatory Agency requirements may vary).
• Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• CPR certification required per State Specific Requirements.
