Job summary

Unitek College of Nursing is seeking a Full Time Vocational Nursing Instructor for evenings and/or weekend clinical support at campus sites in California. The role involves both in-classroom instruction and visiting clinical sites.

The position requires active RN or LVN licensure in the teaching state, with 3 years RN bedside (or 6 years LVN with an associate). Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN or LVN licensure in the state where you will teach.
• 3 years bedside RN/BSN experience OR 6 years bedside LVN with an associate degree.
• Preferred: current immunizations and BLS or ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Visit clinical sites and provide in-classroom instruction.
• Review and revise syllabus as needed within program guidelines.
• Submit program reports to the Director promptly.
• Maintain student records and meet data deadlines.
• Teach courses and clinical rotations including evenings/weekends.
• Engage in professional development and CE hours.
• Participate in assigned committees as schedule allows.

Job Description

We are looking for a Full Time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. This position will be evenings and/or weekend clinical support

Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites and doing In-classroom instruction.

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this position is $90,000.00 (minimum), $110,000.00 (Maximum)

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements set by the board of nursing below:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSNOR
  • 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associates Degree
• Preferred: current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
