Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Nurse II - Per Diem to work in the Nursing Clinical Research department. This role plans, provides and supervises nursing interventions for cancer patients, educates patients and families, and follows physician-prescribed regimens to support life and well-being.
The position is part-time, temporary, non-benefited with a starting hourly rate of $47.58, and requires NY RN licensure with oncology or critical care experience as applicable.

Summary: We are looking for a Nurse II - Per Diem to work within our Nursing Clinical Research department. In this role, the Nurse II plans, provides and supervises nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer-related health care problems; diagnoses and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as patient care, health teaching, and health counseling; provides interventions supportive to or restorative of life and well-being; executes medical regimens prescribed by a physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider authorized by the State Education Commissioner’s regulations; supervises Nurse I’s, Licensed Practical Nurses, Hospital Clinical Assistants and Clinical Support Assistants; performs administrative tasks with assigned area of responsibility; enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Characteristic of the position is the short, unscheduled notice associated with reporting for duty, the variable nature of the hours worked per payroll period and temporary nature of appointments to this title and the fact that this is a non-benefit earning title. Starting hourly rate is $47.58.

Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate should have clinical, research, and/or community-facing experience or specialized training(s) involving botanicals/plant medicines (e.g., cannabis, psychedelics, herbal therapies, etc), substance use (e.g., nicotine, tobacco, alcohol), and/or environmental exposure assessment.
