Job summary

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is seeking a Nurse House Supervisor PRN to lead nursing staff, oversee patient care, and direct operations during off-hours. You will ensure staffing adequacy, manage complaints, and coordinate with Bed Management and leadership to optimize patient flow.

The role emphasizes clinical expertise, leadership, and the ability to solve problems across units while maintaining ICARE values and standards of performance.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Tennessee or a compact state.
• Bachelor's degree required or plan to complete within an agreed timeframe.
• Minimum 3 years of RN clinical experience.
• Prior leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinate issues for problem solving.
• Supervise nursing care and round on all units to assess patient condition.
• Communicate with Nursing Managers/Directors about unit issues.
• Coordinate with the Administrator on Call for critical situations.
• Collaborate with Bed Management to ensure appropriate admissions and placements.
• Facilitate transfer/admission of patients from other locations.
• Assist with patient flow to minimize delays and issues.
• Serve as a staff and provider resource for operational needs.
• Oversee staffing for the hospital during overnight hours.
• Serve as liaison for per diem agency staffing.
• Support ICARE values and Standards of Performance.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nursing Administrative Supervisor is responsible for staffing, patient care oversight, emergency direction, and handling complaints appropriately. This role functions as the administrative resource and expert clinician. The Supervisor provides operational and administrative oversight to all departments during off hours and weekends. The Administrative Supervisor problem solves and evaluates nursing care provided on the units and assign personnel accordingly.

What you will do in this role:

• Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinates issues to appropriate level for problem solving
• Supervise nursing care and ascertain the condition of patients by rounding on all nursing units.
• Communicate with nursing Managers/Directors concerning issues on the individual unit(s).
• Communicate with the Administrator on Call regarding situations of critical importance.
• Work collaboratively with Bed Management to ensure appropriate admissions and with Directors/Managers for the proper placement of patients on the units.
• Facilitate the flow of clinical information for the transfer/admission of patients from clinical, hospitals, emergency departments and other external locations.
• Assist with managing patient flow to eliminate delays and decrease potential issues.
• Serve as a resource for staff and providers for all operational needs.
• Maintain responsibility for the oversight of staffing for the hospital during overnight hours.
• Serve as liaison for per diem agency staffing.
• Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
• Bachelor's Degree, plan to complete a Bachelor's Degree within an agreed upon timeframe, or 4 years of related experience required.
• 3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse required.
• Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
