Job summary

Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Nurse House Supervisor to oversee off-hour operations, staffing, patient care oversight, emergency direction, and issue resolution. This role serves as an administrative resource and clinical expert during nights and weekends.

You will supervise nursing care, engage with Bed Management, coordinate admissions, and support ICARE values while ensuring safe patient flow and staff guidance.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or compact state.
• 3 years of clinical experience as an RN.
• Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinate issues for problem solving.
• Supervise nursing care and round on all units to ascertain patient condition.
• Communicate with Nursing Managers/Directors and with the Administrator on Call on critical situations.
• Collaborate with Bed Management to ensure appropriate admissions and patient placement.
• Facilitate patient flow and transfer/admission processes from various sources.
• Provide staff and provider operational support during overnight hours.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nursing Administrative Supervisor is responsible for staffing, patient care oversight, emergency direction, and handling complaints appropriately. This role functions as the administrative resource and expert clinician. The Supervisor provides operational and administrative oversight to all departments during off hours and weekends. The Administrative Supervisor problem solves and evaluates nursing care provided on the units and assign personnel accordingly.

What you will do in this role:

• Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinates issues to appropriate level for problem solving
• Supervise nursing care and ascertain the condition of patients by rounding on all nursing units.
• Communicate with nursing Managers/Directors concerning issues on the individual unit(s).
• Communicate with the Administrator on Call regarding situations of critical importance.
• Work collaboratively with Bed Management to ensure appropriate admissions and with Directors/Managers for the proper placement of patients on the units.
• Facilitate the flow of clinical information for the transfer/admission of patients from clinical, hospitals, emergency departments and other external locations.
• Assist with managing patient flow to eliminate delays and decrease potential issues.
• Serve as a resource for staff and providers for all operational needs.
• Maintain responsibility for the oversight of staffing for the hospital during overnight hours.
• Serve as liaison for per diem agency staffing.
• Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
• Bachelor's Degree, plan to complete a Bachelor's Degree within an agreed upon timeframe, or 4 years of related experience required.
• 3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse required.
• Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care!
