Job description

Biddeford Schools are seeking:
Nurse - Summer School Year

The Biddeford School Department is looking for a Nurse for Summer Jumpstart and the Summer ML Academy. The dates are June 30-July 24, Monday-Thursday, from 8:00-12:00.

Job Summary

The Nurse will provide supervision for medical and first aid care of Blast, Jumpstart and ML students attending Biddeford’s summer programs. The nurse will provide clinical input in the acute care of children attending summer programs and will work with parents and administration when a student is unable to attend scheduled sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification/License: Maine License in Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse credential (RN)
  • Maine Department of Education CHRC fingerprinting

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides ongoing health records and information, interprets and initiates health referrals to pupils, parents, school personnel and health agencies to meet individual student needs.
  • Provide the administration of medication according to Biddeford School Department policy JLCD.
  • Promotes and assists in the control of communicable diseases through preventative immunization programs, monitoring and reporting of contagious diseases as required.
  • Provides health information to assist students and families in making health related decisions.
