Per Diem License Practical Nurse – Point Pleasant, WV

Role and Responsibilities

1. Act as the second nurse on duty to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
2. Assist with admission and discharge procedures, including paperwork, urinalysis, TB skin tests, contacting emergency contacts, etc.
3. Document in the patient’s chart the nursing assessment, treatment plan, physician’s orders, progress notes, and other relevant data.
4. Monitor for signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal, assisting nursing staff on duty.
5. Provide medically monitored evaluation and withdrawal management in the Detoxification Unit under supervision.
6. Maintain a hygienic and safe work environment in compliance with healthcare procedures.
7. Keep all necessary documentation and charting up to date.
8. Update and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records.
9. Perform scheduled medication administrations.
10. Obtain vital signs as necessary.
11. Interact with clients professionally, maintaining appropriate boundaries.
12. Preferably have working knowledge of medical detoxification for substance abuse.
13. Understand signs and symptoms of substance intoxication and withdrawal, including pharmacological factors.
14. Possess strong team-building and communication skills.
15. Be capable of performing physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
16. Respond physically to individuals’ needs during crisis situations.
17. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, outside professionals, and the public.
18. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Unrestricted LPN license in West Virginia.
• Current certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• Clear criminal background, drug screen, and driving record checks.
