HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to join our patient‑focused team. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in the full scope of the Registered Nurse role while assisting with ADLs, vital signs, wound care, and patient comfort.

You’ll document care, communicate updates to the nursing team, and help patients and families understand their care plans. This role emphasizes infection control and professional growth within a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and basic patient care.
• Monitor and document vital signs as directed by RN.
• Perform basic nursing tasks and wound/catheter care under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team.
• Explain care plans to patients and families to support understanding.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and follow infection prevention practices.
• Engage in learning opportunities and work with supervisor on development plan.
• Support growth by participating in hands-on nursing experiences as you progress.
• Assist with reporting and teamwork to ensure coordinated patient care.
