Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Extern PRN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and assists nursing staff in providing patient care. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality, patient-centered care related to nursing functions and daily activities.

- Collaborate with the clinical team to create and implement care plans, performing direct and indirect patient care under supervision.

- Obtain and record patient information throughout care.

- Assist with patient mobility, turning, positioning, ambulation, and transfers.

- Translate medical terminology to ensure understanding by patients, families, and caregivers.

- Educate patients and families on health, lifestyle, and discharge instructions for self-management.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program, with the ability to perform higher-level procedures upon competency.
• Ability to develop and review a personal career development plan.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure.
