HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to join the nursing team. You will gain hands‑on experience exploring the Registered Nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate care under supervision.

Responsibilities include helping with ADLs, monitoring vitals, wound care, documentation, patient and family education, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This role supports your nursing program and builds confidence for more advanced responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Certificate.

Responsabilités

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated.
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery.
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment.
• Championing your growth and enhancing patient care by engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and grow in your competency
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
