HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to join the nursing team and gain hands-on experience while supporting the Registered Nurse role. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and contribute to safe, compassionate patient care as you progress through your nursing program.

You will document care, communicate updates, and learn under supervision to build your skills.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Completed fundamentals of nursing required

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and grow in your competency
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Championing your growth and enhancing patient care by engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor to build your career development plan

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nurse Extern, you’ll be a valued part of the nursing team, gaining hands‑on experience as you explore the full scope of the Registered Nurse role.
