Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, TX invites nursing students to join as a Nurse Extern. You will work under the supervision of a licensed RN in an acute care hospital, gaining hands-on experience across inpatient units including medical-surgical, telemetry, and critical care.

You will assist with the nursing process, perform basic tasks, document observations, and participate in education sessions.

Formación

• Enrolled in approved nursing program (LPN/ASN/BSN) in good standing.
• Must have completed fundamentals of nursing with clinical practicum.
• Ability to work under RN supervision and follow nursing process.

Responsabilidades

• Assists RN in delivering care based on nursing process and unit standards.
• Performs basic nursing tasks like vital signs, bathing, feeding, ambulation.
• Documents findings and care under RN oversight.
• Communicates clearly with RN and care team about patient needs.
• Maintains clean, safe patient care environment.
• Provides emotional support to patients and families.
• Demonstrates infection control, safety, and privacy awareness.
• Participates in clinical learning opportunities as available.
• Performs non-clinical duties, such as stocking supplies and transporting patients.
• Attends department huddles and educational sessions.
