Summary Description
The Nurse Extern II (NE II) is a member of the patient care services team, primarily responsible for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities.
The NE II works under the supervision of a registered nurse, who delegates tasks based on patient needs and NE II skills and abilities. The NE II reports all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Responsibilities may vary across units or service lines depending on the patient population.
The Nurse Extern II is assigned to an experienced RN each shift and assists with patient care activities such as ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, and other duties within the scope of patient care tech or equivalent. The RN provides ongoing instruction and feedback to the NE II in the clinical area.

Applicants may apply starting 6 months before graduation from an accredited nursing program and must pass all senior courses to remain eligible.
