Overview

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital, offering comprehensive services including heart care, cancer treatment, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic procedures. Sinai-Grace features a minimally invasive joint replacement program and operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties. Summary Description

The Nurse Extern II (NE II) supports the patient care team with technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The NE II works under the supervision of a registered nurse, who delegates tasks based on patient needs and the NE II’s skills. The NE II reports any deviations from expected patient parameters to the RN. Tasks may vary widely depending on the unit and patient population.

The Nurse Extern II assists with providing patient care such as activities of daily living (ADLs), vital signs, ambulation, and other duties within the scope of a patient care tech or equivalent. The assigned RN provides instruction, mentorship, and ongoing feedback.

Applicants can apply starting 6 months before graduation from an accredited nursing program and must pass all senior courses to remain eligible.
