Tenet Healthcare's DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women’s Hospital is seeking a Nurse Extern II (NE II) to join the patient care team in Detroit, MI. The role provides technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

As a Nurse Extern II, you will assist with ADLs, vitals, ambulation, and other tasks within the scope of a patient care tech, reporting any deviations to the RN.

Summary Description

The Nurse Extern II (NE II) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities.

The NE II is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and NE II skills and abilities.
The NE II will report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse.
It is recognized that specific patient care tasks may vary widely in type and frequency from unit to unit or across service lines, based on the nature of the patient population being served.
The Nurse Extern II will be assigned to an experienced RN each shift and will assist with providing patient care such as ADLS, vitals, ambulation and other duties within the scope of patient care tech or equivalent.
The assigned RN instructs and mentors the Nurse Extern II in the assigned clinical area and provides feedback on an ongoing basis. #CD#
