SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is offering a Student Nurse Extern (PRN) position in the Medical Surgical department.

You will gain hands-on clinical experience alongside experienced nurses and a dedicated preceptor in a supportive care environment, applying classroom knowledge to real patient care and exploring nursing specialties. Under supervision, you assist with patient care tasks, vital signs, and activities of daily living, and you prepare patients for discharge as indicated.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing and completion of first clinical rotation, or no more than 90-days post conferral date.
• No experience required.

Responsabilités

• Performs patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Monitors vital signs and responds to calls for help.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Documents care and communicates changes to the care team.
• Prepares patients for discharge when indicated.
• Stocks supplies and orients new patients.
