Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nurse Extern to support licensed staff and contribute to patient care under direct supervision. This unlicensed role performs basic nursing tasks, assists in the plan of care, and helps with patient comfort and safety while you progress through an ADN/BSN program.

Working with a nursing preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience in a large, trusted health system in Georgia, delivering compassionate care to patients and families across diverse settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma General or GED (required).
• Active enrollment in ADN/BSN program is required.
• All certifications may be required upon hire (BLS or ARC-BLS).

Responsibilities

• Vital Signs, AM/PM Care, I&O measurement and basic dressing changes.
• Phlebotomy, capillary glucose monitoring, specimens collection.
• Tracheostomy care, discontinuing IV lines, in-line suctioning as assigned.
• Coordinate unit activities and act as runner between pharmacy, pathology and X-ray.
