Summary:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern provides basic nursing skills and care within the patient and family centered care model. Nursing skills include assisting with personal care, phlebotomy, EKG and basic nursing skills, etc. to facilitate quality service outcomes.

Education:
Enrollment in BSN program & completion of at least third year of program. Or enrollment in Associate Nursing program with completion of at least one year of nursing curriculum. Or completion of BSN/Associate Nursing program w/application to take NCLEX.

Experience:
One year clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a health care setting is preferred.

Credentials:
Eligible for RN licensure at the completion of the BSN/Associate Nursing Program OR completed registration for NCLEX testing. NCLEX and successful passing within 6 months of graduation.
