Job summary

Valley Baptist Health System in Harlingen, TX, is seeking a Nurse Extern (Per Diem, Days) to support our RN staff in med-surg units.

You’ll gain expanded clinical experience through a 1:1 preceptorship with a Registered Nurse, participate in care planning and evaluation, and deliver compassionate care to patients in a teaching environment with a primary stroke center and LTAC services.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program and in senior year.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities and reporting observations to a RN.
• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation with a 1:1 preceptorship in level II.
