Shepherd Center is seeking a Nurse Extern under the direction of a Registered Nurse to observe and communicate patient status, respond to emergencies, perform procedures, and assist with daily living activities while upholding safety and confidentiality.

You will learn within a renowned rehabilitation setting, guided by a Shared Governance model and collaborating with experienced nursing staff for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Nursing student or RN student actively pursuing licensure.
• Strong observation and communication skills in fast-paced clinical settings.
• Willingness to learn and develop under supervision.

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern performs duties in an ethical manner, ensuring patient safety, privacy, dignity and confidentiality. The Extern interacts with and pursues professional development with all unit staff, while maintaining appropriate professional image, practicing in a Shared Governance model of nursing practice.
