Angel Medical Center in Franklin, North Carolina, is seeking a Nurse Extern for PRN shifts to gain hands-on experience alongside our nursing team. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, support mobility and patient comfort while you develop competencies toward RN responsibilities.

Requirements include enrollment in an accredited nursing program, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential with Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
• CNA certification is required.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort.
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated.
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery.
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment.
• Engaging in learning opportunities and collaborating with supervisor or preceptor to develop a personal career plan.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and grow in your competency
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Championing your growth and enhancing patient care by engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant
• Enrolled in accredited nursing program
