Job summary

Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, phlebotomy, EKG, and other basic nursing skills to support patient- and family-centered care.

Pool day shift opportunities available. Enrollment in a BSN program or Associate Nursing program with progress is required, and BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BSN program and completion of at least the third year of the program or enrollment in an Associate Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum.
• One-year clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• BLS through AHA or Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care under RN supervision.
• Support basic nursing tasks such as phlebotomy and EKG as directed.
• Contribute to patient- and family-centered care outcomes.
